GREAT FALLS — A motorcyclist was taken to a hospital after crashing on I-15 on Saturday afternoon.

The crash was reported to the Montana Highway Patrol at 3:50 p.m. and happened near mile marker 242, between Cascade and Craig.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the driver crashed into the jersey barrier that separates the north and southbound lanes and spun out of control.

The man was then hit by a car. The MHP says the man was taken to Benefis Health System in Great Falls.

A Mercy Flight helicopter landed on the highway; we do not know if the man was airlifted to Benefis or taken by ground ambulance.

The MHP trooper told MTN News that he believes the man is in stable condition, and among his injuries is a broken femur.

Both lanes of traffic were closed briefly as emergency crews tended to the man and worked to clear the area.

There is no indication at this point that alcohol or speed were factors in the crash, nor whether any citations or charges will be issued.

We will update you if we get more information.
