CONRAD — A new butcher shop called Coulee Cuts has opened in Conrad.

Coulee Cuts is a full service beef outlet with walk-in, pick up, and shipping services. They offer steaks, prime ribs, and roasts, and state: "Top quality Montana grain finished, USDA inspected beef. From our ranch to your table."

After some unexpected delays with their building restoration, Coulee Cuts was able to finally open their store on January 6th.

Kesler Martin, the owner of Coulee Cuts, says the inspiration to open his new business started with a drive through his cattle herd and a note pad.

Martin said, “When I graduated in May 2014, I knew it was something that needed to be done. I just wanted to do it and then life got busy and it just got put off and put off. In 2016 I started the paperwork and started getting it going, and then it just kinda flat-lined again and forgot about it. And then during the pandemic, I saw how much it was needed, so I just went for it.”

Martin noted, "It’s all our beef that we have raised from birth to finish on our ranch west of Dupuyer."

The new shop also is working to help the community by occasionally donating beef and money to a food pantry in Conrad.

Coulee Cuts is open from 11 - 6 Wednesdays through Fridays and 10 - 2 on Saturdays, and they offer free delivery in town seven days a week. Click here to visit the Facebook page.
