GREAT FALLS — People who live and work on Malmstrom Air Force Base will be without power for several hours on Saturday, February 8th.
Malmstrom officials said on Friday that the utility company has requested an emergency power outage on Saturday between 8 a.m. and noon.
The outage is to support the replacement of an off-base power pole that was damaged in last Saturday's powerful wind storm.
The entire base - with the exception of Minuteman housing - will lose power during those four hours.
If you have any questions or need more information, call the Malmstrom Civil Engineering office at 406-731-6138.
The wind storm last Saturday toppled utility poles, knocked down trees, triggered a "brown-out" causing several crashes, and resulted in thousands of people losing power for several hours. Wind gusts in and around the Great Falls area topped 80 miles per hour in some cases.
