We track another day of warm weather and sunny skies!

Highs return to the upper 70s to mid 80s across the Treasure State.

A major change is rolling in tomorrow.

Our next system pushes into Western Montana on Wednesday night.

This will bring thunderstorms to the Northwest Rockies first.

Thursday morning we will wake up to mild and mostly clear conditions.

Thursdays highs will return to the 70s and 80s, but a cold front pushes into the area by Thursday afternoon and evening.

We will most likely see some strong to severe storms to Central Montana Thursday afternoon ahead of the cold front.

Areas of Central Montana are under a slight risk for severe weather.

On Storm Prediction Center’s (SPC) outlook scale, this means it is likely that isolated areas in the ‘slight’ area will have severe thunderstorms.

Just a step under slight risk we have a marginal risk for severe weather.

Under these areas there is still a good chance of seeing a few storms become severe.

The rest of the state is under a ‘general non-severe’ thunderstorm outlook and is not very likely to see severe thunderstorms; although it is still possible to have a severe thunderstorm pop up in a non-severe outlook area.

Risks with some of the thunderstorms tomorrow include: flash flooding, large hail, gusty wind, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.

We will be watching these storms closely as they start to develop throughout tomorrow afternoon.
