Winter-like forecast for Summer Solstice

We kick off summer with flooding concerns across the Northeast, snow in upper elevations, and scattered showers across the Plains.

An unsettled weather pattern continues today as a low pressure system spins off the northeast part of the state.

This will produce heavy showers over an already over-saturated area.

This means the rain falling today will not be able to be absorbed into the ground very well, and runoff and overflow are possible flooding concerns.

Areal Flood Watch

Areas in upper elevations across Central and Southwest Montana are under a Winter Weather Advisory until this afternoon.

Snow will fall above 5500 ft. and accumulation is expected above 6,000 ft.

Winter Weather Advisory

The first day of Summer’s highs will be the coldest in our forecast.

We only top out in the upper 50s and low 60s this afternoon.

Saturday brings more rain and slowly warming temperatures.

We dry out and rebound back to normal early next week.
