A BIG storm system is moving in from the Pacific. This storm will have an impact on Montana, but it will be minor. There are no watches, warnings or advisories for the state. While feet of snow and inches of rain will fall over the Pacific Northwest, Montana will get a glancing blow.
Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few isolated rain showers in the lower elevations. Snow showers will fly in the mountains along and west of the Continental Divide and there will be a few inches of accumulation there. Highs will be in the 40s and 50s. A few rain and snow showers will continue Wednesday night into Thursday morning, again with little to no impact.
Thursday will be breezy and partly cloudy, mountain snow showers will be on and off throughout the day. Highs will be cooler in the 30s and 40s but these numbers are right close to average.
Friday will be a mostly sunny day with highs in the 30s and 40s. Wind across the plains will gust up to 30mph. This weekend will be the first quiet weekend in a while. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny. Highs will be near normal in the 30s and low 40s. There will be a constant wind over the plains, but the wind will not warrant any watches or warnings. Quiet and sunny November weekends are not that common.
Next week is Thanksgiving already. Clouds and wind will increase on Monday and Tuesday. A few mountain snow showers are possible on Tuesday. A moderate front will bring rain showers and mountain snow late Tuesday night into Wednesday. Right now, travel conditions do not look terrible heading into the holiday.
