(UPDATE, 1:50 p.m.) An investigation is underway after a truck crashed into Pita Pit along 10th Avenue South early Sunday morning.
According to the Great Falls Police Department, at approximately 3 a.m., a vehicle traveling east on 10th Avenue South was struck by another vehicle, which resulted in a non-injury crash.
The crash caused immense property damage to both vehicles and several roadway structures. One vehicle landed inside Pita Pita.
Jim and Jeanette Talley have owned Pita Pit for 11 years. They live in Helena, however, they arrived in Great Falls around 5 a.m. to assess the damage.
“We don’t know when it will be open because there’s exterior clean-up too,” Jeanette said.
They do not yet have an estimate for damage costs.
Manager Christine RattlingTail said she woke up to a phone call from the alarm company around 3 a.m. She arrived at the store around 3:30 a.m.
“It was quite a scene, there was a mess,” she said. “By the time I got here, they had already started processing evidence.”
The GFPD has declined to release any other information so far; we will update you when we get more information.

(1st REPORT, 9:29 a.m.) A pickup truck crashed into Pita Pit along 10th Avenue South early Sunday morning.
One witness said she was getting off work and driving when she was almost hit.
She said the truck came right at her, then smashed into Pita Pit, and caused another wreck. She indicated some people ran away after the crash.
The Great Falls Police Department has declined to release any details concerning arrests, injuries, or events leading up to the crash.
There is no word yet on the extent or dollar amount of damage to the building.
