Barb was born into the military lifestyle commonly referred to as an “Air Force Brat” on March 28, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas. She was the third child of four of Paul and Carolyn Kimmerle. Siblings were, Jeanne Marie Louden, Paul James Kimmerle, and younger sister, Doris Ann Kimmerle.

The Kimmerle family moved from Texas to Hahn AFB, Germany in 1964, where they lived for three years. From there, they moved stateside to McChord AFB near Tacoma, WA for a brief stint of about ten months. On the move again to Incirlik AFB, Turkey for four years, finally landing at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana in June of 1972. Barb attended Morningside and Sunnyside Elementary schools, East Junior High and Paris Gibson Junior High Schools, and finished at Great Falls High School in the class of 1979.

Barb moved to Bigfork, MT, then on to the Seattle area for several years, then returned to Great Falls where she met the love of her life, William Walker. They were married on June 24, 1995. She was very proud to be a military wife. She worked for several years as a warranty clerk in the service department at Bison Ford. Currently she was employed for the past twenty years as a medical records scanner for the Center for Mental Health dba Many Rivers Whole Health.

Barb loved her dogs and enjoyed camping, golf, and bowling, which included going to many state and national tournaments with her mom and other teammates. She also enjoyed doing puzzle books, playing video poker machines and spending time with family and friends. When you ran into Barb anywhere, you were sure to get hugs and kisses and be showered with love, as she always had a very kind heart.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Carolyn Kimmerle; in-laws, Clyde and Mary Ann Walker; and her sister, Jeanne Louden. Her surviving family members are her husband, William Walker; her sister, Doris Kimmerle; her brother, Paul J. Kimmerle; and brother-in-law, Brad Walker. Also surviving are nephews, Kenny Volk and Michael Volk; niece, Kimberly Sandling, and several great-nieces and great-nephews and of course her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Bailey.🐾

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday March 29, 2026, at VFW Post 1087 located at 4123 10th Ave South, Great Falls, MT beginning at 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be approximately at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been made through Schnider Funeral Home.
